The apostate Paulus [Pablo] *Christiani proposed to King James I of Aragon that a formal public religious disputation on the fundamentals of faith should be held between him and R. Moses b. The debate was held in 1263 over a period of four days in Barcelona in front of King James I of Aragon. This is by far the most famous disputation between Judaism and Christianity ever to take place. Nahmanides emerged victorious and was even rewarded by King James I, but was ultimately forced by the Dominicans to leave Aragon (Spain).
